The largest collection of bells in the world.

What started out (in 1955) as a heart-felt refusal to melt down a church bell, has grown into a stunning private collection unequalled in North America, if not in the world.

The bells on display (pylons supplied by Hydro-Québec) range in weight from 75 lbs (35kg) to over 2,5 tons. Each has a plaque stating its place of origin, a little of its history, weight, and date acquired. The oldest in the collection dates from 1718; one of the more interesting historically was cast in 1760, and was used on a plantation in the state of Pennsylvania to summon slaves back to the fields.

"An awesome experience... No one who has stood next to a two and a half ton bell while its clapper makes contact can ever forget the sound that wells up within it, much less describe it..."
